This Bowman Roper is built for rugged durability, whether working on the ranch or simply trail riding for pleasure.

The saddle features a standard aluminum roping horn with 2-1/2” cap, atop a bowman swell/fork. We’ve added our manufacturer’s strength upgrades to both the horn and swell/fork for added strength and reliability while roping. The horn is built using a 4-piece construction, hand-sewn, and we’ve added a removable latigo horn wrap for easy change-out should you wear it out. The swell/fork cover features a “rolled-lip” front edge and is secured on the underside with escutcheon pins.

The saddle is rigged using a hanging-angled-dee rigging at front, and hanging-dee at the rear. The riggings are hung in the 7/8 position, however we can hang the rigging in either the full-double or ¾ position if desired.

The skirts are square with rounded corners, and a close-cut for better feel and control. The skirts are lined with sheep’s wool (pictured in black but available in golden), for a more traditional style. They are laced at the rear and fastened to the tree bars utilizing tugs. The breastcollar-dees are riveted through the skirts for added strength.

A rear housing tops the skirts at the rear of the saddle for a nice finished look The rear housing is a 3-piece construction.

The seat is an inlaid padded seat utilizing Acor padding and black top-seat for greater comfort on long rides. (Hard seat, Full-padded seat, and Bicycle seat available upon request)

The cantle binding is a pencil-roll, hand sewn for durability. (pictured, a Cheyenne-roll binding is available upon request) We’ve included a 1” footman loop at center rear but a crupper-dee is available if preferred.

The fenders are an 18” harwood style fender utilizing full 60” x 2-1/2” stirrup leathers and Blevins Buckle attachment. We custom fit each pair of fender to the saddle to ensure maximum adjustability for the model and fender length. The fenders are riveted and sewn for greater strength and reliability. (shorter or longer fenders available upon request) Cal-twist is standard on all our fender options. (No twist available upon request)

The stirrups are a 2” Visalia style full cover stirrup with 2-1/2” neck. Leather stirrup hobbles are included on all our models. 

Double front latigo straps (84” x 1-3/4”) are included for rigging the front girth (not included), and a rear billet and flank cinch (included) are utilized at the rear. The billets and flank cinch are latigo backed, doubled and stitched, for added strength.

This saddle features dual latigo carriers at the front, a single cinch carrier at the right cantle corner, and a six-string clip & dee set up. We top it all off with 1-1/2” copper octagon, screw-back conchos.  Virtually any Concho is available. Contact the shop for additional options.

The saddle (as pictured) features a complex border tooling with geometric stamping. This tooling style typically includes corner geometric stamping on the swell/fork, cantle cover, seat, rear housing, front rigging and fender corners. Border tooling is included on the fork, seat, rear housing, skirts, fender and stirrups. Multiple tooling styles are available on this model.  

Our saddles utilize 14/15 oz. skirting leather, latigo, and top-seat throughout. All hardware is stainless steel.
